Preview pages are your shop window on Stuvia. Buyers often decide within a few seconds whether to click through, so choosing wisely really helps.
When you upload, Stuvia automatically selects the number of preview pages based on the length of your document:
More than 30 pages: 4 preview pages
15–30 pages: 3 preview pages
4–15 pages: 2 preview pages
Fewer than 4 pages: 1 preview page
Do you want to change this?
That’s always possible. Here’s how:
Go to Uploads in your account
Click on the three dots next to your document
Choose Edit and adjust the number of preview pages
Which pages should you choose as a preview?
Think strategically: you want to show enough to build trust, but not so much that someone already has everything.
This usually works very well
Table of contents (if you have one): immediately clear what someone will get
Clear, well-organized pages: show that the document is well worked out
Pages that prove quality: for example a clear summary or structure
Better to avoid
Pages with a lot of handwriting, highlights, or scribbles
Text that’s hard to read (for example shaded or too busy)
Pages that give away too much (such as complete answers or key schemes)
Pay extra attention to images and tables
Do you use images or tables? Make sure you’re not committing plagiarism. You can find more information in our article about copyright and plagiarism.
